Crisp, Comfortable Vision with Contacts
Contact lenses are a popular choice for anyone who wishes to go glasses-free. While contacts provide support and vision correction just like glasses, they require more time to fit correctly.
Getting a professional contact lens exam and fitting is critical to your eye health. Ill-fitting contact lenses are uncomfortable and can even damage the surface of your eye. That’s why we book appointments specifically to make sure they fit you properly and to train first-time contact lens wearers how to use and care for their new lenses.
Our knowledgeable team will guide you through the process, helping you decide which style of contact lens is right for you. We’ll also show you how to care for your lenses to keep your eyes happy and healthy.

Before you get fitted for contact lenses, we’ll evaluate your overall eye health to determine which style of lenses works for you. We carry rigid gas-permeable lenses—a hard contact lens that can last for 1 year before being replaced—as well as daily disposable soft contact lenses and specialty ortho-k lenses.
During your contact lens fitting, we’ll use a corneal topographer to map the shape of your cornea, the clear front part of your eye. Mapping your cornea allows us to get the right fit for your specific eye shape.
After your contact lens exam, we’ll take time to explain how to care for your lenses and book another appointment to pick up your completed contacts. In this appointment, we’ll make sure the fit is comfortable and answer any remaining questions you have.
Contact Lens Hygiene & Maintenance
Contact lenses sit directly on your eye, so keeping them clean is vital to prevent infections and discomfort. Your optometrist will discuss how to care for your lenses during your fitting and pickup, but here are some reminders to keep your eyes healthy regardless of which style of contacts you choose:
- Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before inserting or removing contact lenses.
- Remove your lenses before going to bed.
- Book regular eye exams to monitor your eye health.
- Avoid showering, swimming, or hot tubbing while wearing contact lenses.
- Never clean your contact lenses with tap water. Always use contact lens solution.
Ortho-k Specialty Lenses
Ortho-k lenses work like orthodontics for your eyes. Unlike traditional contact lenses, ortho-k lenses are worn overnight. They work by temporarily reshaping your cornea to improve your vision during the day.
Ortho-k lenses are a surgery-free way to correct myopia (nearsightedness). Wearing ortho-k lenses can allow you to go without glasses or contacts throughout the day. We fit ortho-k lenses for both adults and children. Ask us during your next appointment if ortho-k might work for you.
Contact Lenses for Kids
Kids can wear contacts, too! Contact lenses can be a great option for active kids, allowing them to focus on their sport without worrying about their eyewear. We fit contact lenses for tweens and teens starting around age 12, including both regular vision correction lenses and ortho-k lenses for myopia control.
As part of our contact lens fitting for kids, we’ll teach both them and their parents about how to care for their lenses. We typically recommend daily disposable lenses for our younger contact lens wearers for ease of use and hygiene.
